In many rural towns, talented young people are leaving, resources are dwindling and regulations are loosening, leading to a stagnation of the region. We contend that using remaining local resources or the region’s DNA—the firmly embedded history, culture and customs therein—can reverse that trend.
We believe that the collaboration of the local government and academia can bring about this kind of DNA-integrated ecosystem.
